Classes and workshops

The classes and workshops offered by Burning Brightly are designed to help you relieve stress and improve overall well being. They are not intended to be a treatment for physical and/or mental health concerns.

If you have recently received or are currently receiving treatment from a psychiatrist, psychotherapist or counsellor for an ongoing mental health issue, Burning Brightly strongly advises you obtain guidance and subsequent approval from your mental health professional(s) before proceeding with qi gong or meditation classes or workshops at this time. If you are currently taking medication for a mental health issue, do not change your medication, other than in close collaboration with your healthcare professional(s).

Please let us know in advance of attending a class or workshop if:

  • You are suffering from any physical illness or ill health, or
  • You have had any mental ill-health in the last few years, such as anxiety or depression.

In the unlikely event that we do not feel the training you have signed up for is suitable for you at this time, we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss this in more detail and if necessary process a full refund.

Also, if you have recently experienced or are currently going through a traumatic life event, such as a separation from a long-term partner, the death of a close family member or friend, or redundancy, this may not be the right time for you to start to develop a qi gong or meditation practice. However, this very much depends on your current psychological health and the support networks you have around you, such as friends, family and mental health professionals.

If any of the above circumstances apply to you, please discuss this with Suzi at Burning Brightly, so we can explore how you can best be supported during any sessions in which you participate.
